Our story
Built by Advisors, for Advisors
The Travel Advisor Network was founded on a simple belief: that travel advisors deserve a professional home that puts their interests first — always.
Our Mission
"To elevate the travel advisor profession by providing the knowledge, community, and connections that help advisors build thriving, sustainable businesses."
The Travel Advisor Network was founded in 2009 by a group of independent travel advisors who were frustrated by the lack of a truly advisor-centric professional community. Most industry organizations were supplier-funded and supplier-focused. We wanted something different.
Today, TAN is the largest independent professional network for travel advisors in the world — with over 4,200 members across 89 countries. We are funded by membership dues and selective partnerships, never by supplier advertising that could compromise our editorial independence.
Everything we do — from our resource library to our preferred partner program — is evaluated through a single lens: does this make our members more successful? If the answer is yes, we do it. If not, we do not.
Our Values
Independence
We are funded by members, not suppliers. Our editorial voice and partner recommendations are never for sale.
Generosity
The best advisors share what they know. We build a culture where knowledge flows freely and rising tides lift all boats.
Excellence
We hold ourselves and our members to the highest professional standards — because our clients deserve nothing less.
Inclusion
Travel is for everyone. Our community welcomes advisors of all backgrounds, specialties, experience levels, and business models.
